By fulfilling the Foundation’s goals and in communicating with diverse interest groups we consider ourselves as reliable partners. As a foundation with strong roots in the regions of Ruhr and Saar, we acknowledge our responsibility to optimally design the adjustment process in accordance with the interests of our employees and the regional environment.

The Foundation’s framework of action is defined by the following principles: 

• Dividends and profits from the sale of shares in Evonik Industries AG are safely invested as foundation assets and will serve to finance the long-term liabilities and the RAG Corporation’s corporate contribution. 
• The annual budget including expenses for the promotion of education, science and culture is financed by interest income.
• The foundation gives a new impetus by supporting mining-related educational and cultural projects as well as the initiatives of third parties.
